Pacamara Finca Los Alpes El Banco
90 points (8/2011)
There are few coffees as special to us as our direct trade Los Alpes
coffees. And this one, from the same farm we have worked closely with
for three years running, is The Bank. Literally. El Banco Pacamara
is from one of the original plantings of the now-classic Pacamara
variety as it emerged from the laboratory of Angel Cabrera, the Father
of Pacamara. Seeds taken from this lot have been used to plant
much of the worlds Pacamara coffees. This coffee is special because
it rocks but also because it is the result of the diligence and hard
work of our good friend Luis Alonso Araujo. It is the symbol of what
happens when roasters and farmers come together-in the spirit of equity,
friendship, and passion for coffee-and work to create the best coffee
from crop to cup.

Deep, complex and layered. Night flowers, molasses, lemon, crisp
cocoa in aroma and cup. Sweetly tart acidity, smooth, lightly syrupy
mouthfeel. Richly balanced, flavor-saturated finish. (coffeereview)
