Ethiopian Sidamo

92 points (7/2010)

Blind Assessment:
Light lemon- and floral-toned aroma with hints of aromatic wood and sweet tea. In the cup smooth acidity, syrupy mouthfeel and a broad range of fruit notes: stone fruit, berries, black currant, flowers. Flavors fade slowly leaving a sugary sweetness in the finish.

Who should drink it: Complex fruit and floral sweetness in a classic Ethiopia.. (coffreview.com)

Notes: **Certified organically grown and Fair Trade, the latter meaning the green beans were purchased from small-holding farmers (in this case farmer members of the Sidamo Cooperative Union) at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Ethiopian coffees like this one processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp is removed before drying) express floral and citrus notes with particular intensity.
